Appointment of New Director at the DCA of Aruba
The Registry of Aruba is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. ing. Edwin F. Kelly as the new Director of the DCA of Aruba, the appointment was made official on the 1st of December 2014; assuming his position effective immediately.
Mr. ing. Edwin F. Kelly earned his Aeronautical Engineering degree in 1993 in The Netherlands. He continued his studies and earned a degree in Aircraft Operations Science. Furthermore he successfully completed the module "Aviation law" at the Leiden University and the module "Air Transportation Science" at the Technical University of Delft. In 2005 he graduated from the Aruban Pedagogical Academy, earning his qualifications as teacher at the high school level.,and recently has obtained his Master in Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Aruba.
Mr. ing. Edwin F. Kelly worked for 6 months at the Rijksluchtvaartdienst (Dutch CAA) and has worked for over 20 years at the Department of Civil Aviation of Aruba, whereby he started as Airworthiness Inspector. After that he becoming the Manager of the Airworthiness & Registration Department and later on formed part of the Management Team, which would then lead to his succession as the Director of the DCA of Aruba.
He was part of the start up of the foreign aircraft registration project in 1995 and one of the drivers of the recent re-branding and re-launching of the Aruban aircraft registry early 2014.Moreover,Mr.ing.Edwin F. Kelly was part of the team that succeeded in obtaining FAA Category 1 rating for Aruba in 1996, and was part of different ICAO article 83bis negotiations.
SCM Aruba A.V.V registers another aircraft
SCM Aruba A.V.V registers it's 4th aircraft with Aruba. This time a Falcon 7X under registration marks P4-SCM.
The aircrafts base of operations will be Kyiv, Ukraine and will be flying under private registration.

Existing operator Prime Aviation registers a Bombardier DHC 8-315 in Aruba, under registration marks P4-MCO.
The aircraft's Base of Operations will be Almaty, Kazakhstan and will be flying commercially. We welcome P4-MCO into our registry and look forward to many successful flights!
Aruba Introduces Automated Passport Control Kiosks: Enhancing Travel to US
On December 8, 2014 the Aruba airport introduced a new automated passport system. With the new passport control kiosk Aruba leads the Caribbean into automated passenger processing. The Automated Passport Control Kiosks (APC kiosks) are installed and passengers traveling to the United States are able to use it. Aruba is the only airport in the Caribbean with the APC system. The system is available for passengers traveling to the United States for U.S. and Canadian passport holders. Passengers residing in countries that do not require a U.S. entry visa and applied for a Visa Waiver with ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) can also use the kiosks. Adding additional services is beneficial for Aruba as an international tourism and business destination. The United States is Aruba’s main tourism market. U.S. pre-clearance and Automated Passport Control Kiosks make traveling to the United States via Aruba more attractive. This is also beneficial for business travelers.
Aruba Registers G550 P4-BFY
The Registry of Aruba is proud to announce the registration of G550 P4-BFY; this aircraft prior to its registration was Gulfstream's demonstration aircraft. The aircraft will be flying to its home-base, Luanda, Angola, operated by Best Fly Worldwide.
DCA Accepts More Type Certificate Embraer Products
As of August 15, 2014 the DCA of Aruba accepts more type certificate Embraer products. In accordance with the Aruban Airworthiness Regulations the following Embraer products that are now accepted by Aruba:
Embraer - EMB 500 and Embraer - EMB 505
